Old days!?

In the old days or say 20 years ago? when we didnt have Tim Holtz and distress ink we used actual things like that shoe polish that Dana mentioned in her post to me. We also used actual coffee and tea and actual elmers glue ahahha

Of course with all the cool stuff they think it is faster, which brings to mind i was at a flea market last weekend and some guy yes some guy is selling tshirts that was dyed with Oklahoma red clay mud! and they were cool, little stiff but very dark clay red and prewashed so you won't turn red!

He had vintage american flags i loved them! He also sold red clay dirt in kerr jars for us to be adventerous! hmmm i think we could make tags? but archival/acid free hmmm i wont tell if you wont! lol

Gesso is my friend part II

first one just coverage with gesso, second one you can see getting coverage and last spraying with walnut ink for a vintage look.

Gesso or Not?

Oh, i love gesso it has been my freind for so long! Well i broke down and purchased some of Claudine Hellmuth gesso, of course she has paints too!



Long time ago in painting and compositions classes I learned so much about gesso. It is a great coverage as well as a nice texture to play with. Of course i never used products for what they really were for. Thats how you find happy mistakes! la la!



Here hopefully are some pics, her Gesso is so premium creamy and very little goes a long way most are fast drying. Nice way to cover something dark to lighten with a new color as you will see. I will post pics later. so keep a watch!

Trunk Show

Classes

Well this crazy weather, we are at winter you know or so we say only in Oklahoma!

I just wanted to add two pics of classes, with the Owasso store.

Date book class is rescheduled the 5th of Feb. - note each month those special dates/notes

Card class is a future Feb. class - various cards to add pics or messages to.

Trunk show?

More like suitcases - well i have some more fresh items that had to be unboxed the next debut will be hopefully Feb. 24th. There was a date open for the Feb. 14th but i figured most will be getting all fixed up for their hot dates that night.

So Feb. 24th will be the next packed up suitcases for show and tell! Yeah! Hope to see ya!

Storage

I vote for clear containers and nice clear jars. Everything at your fingertips and seeing everything! (to use) not just store! lol

I have a desk full of stuff, paper, ink, stickers and stamps! Where the creations? They are coming soon, i need to download more pics. Having fun with lots of clip art and tags. On these cold days you have more motivation if you are stuck in the house.

Time flies by!

Being on the other side of the counter, a different prospective i had forgotten about. While window shopping and hitting some smaller markets, I found the coolest little phones! You know like on key chains they guy said it was a promotional thing like from the princess phones when they came out.

It is funny now when we think of it, i know my friends i travel with window shopping look at me like what the heck are you going to do with that! But little do they know my brain starts rolling more when i see such things than when i am sitting at my desk trying to come up with a creation.

I think now, they dont even question they just look for me and i have never been dissapointed with what they have found!

Almost August

Wow where does it keep going! I have creating cards from some fun pics. Love putting funny sayings to go with them. ( believe it or not it is amusing!) I am looking into furniture which is my favorite to cover.

With school around the corner, i am thinking of my creative thank you and teacher greetings to come up with for welcome gifts.

I bet they get overwhelmed with paper!

Hope everyone has had a great summer. It was nice to actualy sit back and see it happen. Even though it was extremely hot, venturing out was nice. My own terms, my own hours.

Time Flies!

Where in the world did the time go! Soon kids will be back in school and fall and winter! Not that i will miss the heat.

I have had ample time to move boxes around and move them again. It has been an interesting discovery each time i open a box. Oh wow thats where i put that! fun stuff, new suff and old. Well not old but fun stuff that you don't use everyday.

Been creating card and book classes and ready to move on some time consuming things.

I hope every one keeps creating and having inspiration.

I have had photos sitting to upload to blog and website. After the pc struggle and the pictures i finaly have the patience to sit down and get this done. When you can't sleep and a little stressed art is fun! and it takes your mind off of things too!
